dachshund-christmas-doormat-with-dog-name
Dachshund Christmas Doormat Gift With Dog Name

December is the month your dachshund has been training for all year.

ALL VISITORS MUST BE APPROVED BY — and then his name, in letters you can read from the sidewalk.

Think about who comes to your door between now and Christmas. The neighbour with a tin of cookies. Your sister, early. And the delivery driver, every single afternoon, twice on Tuesdays. Your doxie meets all of them at full volume. The breed was built in Germany to go down a badger hole alone and nobody told him he retired, so a man in a brown uniform holding a box is, to him, a clear and present threat.

This mat just makes it official.

Buying it as a gift

This is the kind of Christmas gift a dachshund owner does not already have, because it has their own dog's name on it. If you are buying for someone else, you need two things from them: the dog's name, and roughly what colour he is. The name is easy to ask for. The colour you can usually get from one photo — send it to us and we will tell you which of the 15 coat colours matches, no charge and no obligation.

If you would rather not spoil the surprise by asking, order the coat colour you think is closest. We send a proof before anything prints, so there is still a chance to change it.

How you make it yours

Choose the coat colour that matches your dog from 15 real dachshund colours — Black & Tan, Chocolate & Cream, Silver Dapple, Chocolate Dapple, Piebald, Isabella, Wild Boar, Brindle and more. Choose his Christmas outfit — Santa hat, reindeer antlers, elf hat, Fair Isle sweater, striped scarf, or a string of lights. Type his name, up to 12 characters. We email a proof within 24 hours and nothing prints until you approve it.

What you get

One 30 x 18 inch doormat, finished size approximately 29.5 x 17.5 inches, printed edge to edge

Felt-like polyester top with a non-slip black rubber backing

Printed in the USA by dye sublimation, so the colour sits in the fibres instead of on top of them and will not peel or crack

Weighs approximately 2 lb

Please read before you buy

This is a felt-topped mat, not a coir brush mat. It is made for light-duty use — a covered porch, a back door, an entryway, a sunroom. It is not built for an uncovered step that takes snow, rain and salt all winter. If that is your doorway, this is not your mat and we would rather say so now.

Why people buy this one

Because their dog is a chocolate dapple and nobody sells a chocolate dapple. Because the mat says his name, not a generic breed silhouette. Because there is no year printed on it, so it comes back out every December instead of living in a box after one season.

Order by December 8

Made to order, and December post is slower than the rest of the year. Printing starts once you approve your proof and takes 1 to 3 business days, then US delivery usually runs about 6 days. Order by December 8 to have it under the tree. After that date we cannot promise it arrives in time, and we would rather be honest than take the order.

Care

Shake it out or rinse with cold water and air dry. No machine washing, no bleach.

Shipping

We ship within the United States. Message us before ordering for anywhere else and we will quote it.

If something is wrong

Damaged, misprinted, or a name spelled differently from the proof you approved — send a photo and we remake it at no cost. Because each mat is made for one dog, we cannot take returns for a change of mind or for a name you approved and later wanted different.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1033/9513/1686/files/sipengrave-dachshund-christmas-doormat-gift-with-dog-name-real-dachshund-doorway.png?v=1791172001
